Anti-Social behaviour in and around the village hall
Sean Woods
This is a general, South Worcestershire-wide, message to alert you to a "con-man", who may have operated in our area, and may do so again in future.
He was arrested by Gloucestershire Police yesterday for theft/deception offences. He is approx 60 years old, of stocky build, 5'10" and has distinctive white hair. He has used various false names.
His M.O. is to wear white overalls and sometimes carry a ladder. He knocks on doors randomly and says he is working locally and has run out of fuel in his car, and can he have a fiver/tenner to get some fuel for his journey home, promising to return it the next day. He also says he has run out of of paint and has to go and buy some more but hasn't got any money. Surprisingly he gets given money by people who believe him, as he has a familiar and friendly way about him.
He has suggested whilst in custody that he has been in our area, possibly in Honeybourne.
Therefore, please be mindful of this type of scam and make your members aware of his description, in case he is to come our way again when free to do so (i.e. depending on the outcome of his recent arrest..).

West Mercia Police - Special Constabulary
We have just launched a campaign to increase the number of volunteer Special Constables across the West Mercia area.
Special Constables carry out a variety of roles alongside regular officers to help police their communities. They have the same powers as regular police officers (e.g. being able to arrest people), wear a similar uniform and face the same challenges. The role is a part-time one - a minimum of 4 hours a week, normally evenings and weekends.
We will give you all the training you require and a uniform. In return, you'll get the chance to learn more about policing, show your community that you care, meet new people, enjoy new experiences and learn new skills - not to mention discovering new things about yourself and what you are capable of.
If you, or someone you know would like more information you can either call 01905 747174 for a chat, email peter.trueman@westmercia.pnn.police.uk or click on the force website www.westmercia.police.uk.
Speeding along Church Road
It has been brought to the attention of the Local policing Team that speeding along Church Road has started to become an issue. A recent day of enforcement at the location resulted in 6 drivers being given tickets due to excessive speed. I would like to remind you all of your responsibility towards road safety and the safety of residents. Over the coming months we will be carrying out a series of enforcement days with a zero tolerance approach to offenders. You have been warned.
Local Policing PACT

Local Issues- Vehicle crime and theft from outbuildings.
The team are asking residents to be aware of the vehicle and outbuilding security. Over the last few weeks there have been a number of break ins to sheds and vehicles were the offenders have targeted power tools. Please follow these few simple steps and do not present thieves with opportunity.
1. Ensure all sheds and outbuildings were possible have padlocks fitted and secure.
2. Make use of security lights and house lightening whenever possible.
3. Ensure all your valuables are removed or hidden from view when leaving your vehicle.
4. Remember the sucker marks left by your sat nav are indications that there may be one within the vehicle if possible remove the marks.
Anti-Social Behaviour(ASB) around the village hall.
All residents please be aware there have been a number of issues and incidents of ASB and damage that have taken place around the village hall. Your local policing team will take and reports of damage or ASB seriously and if required take action. As the local officer I ask all residents particularly those with young children and teenagers to note the following.
1. It is your village hall and as such should be respected by all.
2. Any persons using the facility to meet, play or to chat should be mindful to clear any litter and report any anti-social behaviour.
Remember young and old all have a responsibility to look after the village.
PARKING OUTSIDE NORTON JUXTA KEMPSY FIRST SCHOOL
Parents are asked to remain considerate when dropping off and picking up children from school.
On the whole most people are very good and park correctly and within the Traffic law. However there are some who contravene the zig zags and others who wholly or partially block resident’s driveways.
Drivers are asked to consider the following.
1. The yellow paint markings outside the school are there to protect YOUR children and also the staff and parents.
2. Blocking someone’s drive for 5 minutes in the morning and the same in the afternoon may not seem a long time but when it happens 5 days a week for the best part of the school year I am sure you will agree it would become annoying.
PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE AT ALL TIMES AND KEEP OUTSIDE SCHOOL AS SAFE AS IT IS INSIDE.
Anyone who would like to discuss any issues please do not hesitate to contact me.
